Easter Shenanigans
This time of year is full of growth, unpredictable weather and of course... Easter!
At Harrogate Neighbours we find that celebrating these traditions is important to the well-being of our clients across the community.
This year the tenants at The Cuttings kick-started Easter week with an Easter Egg Hunt in their newly refurbished garden. Tenants were able to enjoy their new space with accessible paths and a new pergola to explore! A huge thank you to LeeBuild and Gill's Joinery who have worked hard this winter to make this happen. Once tenants had collected the hidden eggs, they were able to exchange these for real (chocolate) ones!
It wouldn't be Easter at the Cuttings without a visit from the Quizmaster, Andrew Bull. Tenants and staff can get involved in the quiz and Andrew always brings along some generous prizes! This year there was a Sit-Com music round which brought memories to many tenants (and staff!)
We can't wait for another visit in summer!
Our Scheme Manager at The Cuttings, Louise hosted the weekly Bingo to allow our much appreciated Bingo caller, Eric to take part and have a crack at winning a prize! Easter chocolates were handed out to tenants for a treat.
As well as delivering an Easter Egg to each one of our residents at Heath Lodge and tenants at The Cuttings, we also ensured our clients in the community received an egg too. Our Meals on Wheels clients were delighted to see they had received a chocolate egg, one commenting that they hadn't received one for 50+ years! We think it's important to make sure our staff and volunteers feel appreciated and therefore we ensured they all received an Easter egg as well!
We also invited all our volunteers to a tea and cake afternoon to share how much we value their dedication to Harrogate Neighbours - We really couldn't do it without them! Our fantastic Food Angels Chef, Marc made a beautiful lemon drizzle cake that was demolished much faster than the actual baking process. A sign of a good cake!
Good Friday meant only one thing... Hot Cross Buns! The hospitality team provided a hot cross bun and a hot drink of choice for all tenants, including Gluten Free for our staff and tenants with dietary requirements. Staff joined tenants in the Dining Car Restaurant to come together and celebrate the Easter festivities.
And finally... Easter Sunday was celebrated with a lamb (or chicken) roast!
We love Easter and feel set up and ready for what Spring can bring.
