As food is an important part of what we do, we decided to take part in celebrating British Food. Residents at The Cuttings attended various tasting sessions hosted by our Hospitality Manager, Stephen.
The first event was… Sausage Tasting! There were seven different sausages to taste and residents voted on their favourites. The results came in and it was clear that the Classic Cumberland Sausage was The Cuttings choice.
When it comes to British Food, it is important that we balance sweet and savoury and so “When in Yorkshire…” we make Yorkshire Puddings! Residents enjoyed mini Toad in the Hole bites and for pudding they sampled Yorkshire Puddings with golden syrup and vanilla ice-cream. It was such a success that we may have discovered a new dessert to add to our menu!
Finally, it wouldn’t be British Food Fortnight without an Afternoon Tea and Cake tasting session! Stephen baked and sampled three different cakes for residents to try:
Coffee and Walnut, Chocolate, and a Classic Victoria Sponge.
